Description
The purpose of this capstone project was to develop and implement a multisensory handwriting educational program designed to improve handwriting readiness and foundational writing skills in preschool children. The program was implemented in a Montessori preschool with 37 children between the ages of 3 and 6 years and provided teachers with evidence-based strategies to support handwriting development through multisensory, play-based activities targeting fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, motor planning, and sensory processing. Expected outcomes included increased student engagement in handwriting activities, improved foundational handwriting skills, enhanced teacher confidence in implementing multi-sensory strategies, and the establishment of sustainable handwriting practices within the classroom.
